Ground white pepper gives a strong, pungent pepper flavour and aroma while keeping finished products clean and pale. Our white pepper is made from fully ripe Vietnamese pepper berries, sun-dried, cleaned, ground, sieved and heat treated, then quality controlled and packed in the UK.

Wholesale White Pepper for Butchers and Food Producers

White pepper is a staple in traditional British sausage seasonings, pork pies, white sauces and lighter-coloured meat products, where you want pepper heat without visible black specks. The fine grind disperses evenly through sausage meat and mixes. The 1kg pack is a practical size for butchers and smaller producers, and it works well alongside our sausage seasonings.

FAQs

What is the difference between white pepper and black pepper?

Both come from the same plant. Black pepper is made from unripe berries dried whole. White pepper is made from ripe berries with the outer skin removed, giving a pale powder with a strong, pungent heat.

Why use white pepper in sausages?

White pepper gives the pepper heat butchers expect in traditional sausages without leaving dark specks in the meat, which keeps the finished product looking clean.

What does heat treated mean?

Heat treatment is a step in processing that helps reduce the natural microbial load of the spice. Details are in the product specification on this page.

Do you sell a larger pack?

Yes. For larger quantities, see our White Pepper 25kg pack.
