Ground black pepper is the most widely used spice in meat products, giving a strong, pungent, biting flavour and aroma. Our black pepper comes from Vietnam, where the berries are picked while still green, fermented and sun-dried. The peppercorns are then cleaned, ground, sieved and quality controlled in the UK.

Wholesale Ground Black Pepper for Butchers

A fine, free-flowing grind means the pepper disperses evenly through sausage meat, burger mixes and seasonings, giving consistent flavour batch after batch. The 25kg sack suits butchers and food producers using black pepper in volume, and it works well alongside our sausage seasonings and meat rubs and seasonings.

FAQs

What is the difference between ground and cracked black pepper?

Ground black pepper is a fine powder that blends evenly into a product. Cracked black pepper is a coarser cut that stays visible, which suits pepper crusts and coarse sausages. For a coarse grade, see our Cracked Black Pepper 12 Mesh 1kg pack.

What is the difference between black pepper and white pepper?

Both come from the same plant. Black pepper is made from unripe berries dried whole, giving dark specks and a bold flavour. White pepper is made from ripe berries with the skin removed, so it adds pepper heat without dark specks.

How much black pepper goes in sausages?

It varies by recipe and taste. Black pepper is usually one of the main spices in a traditional sausage seasoning, so check your seasoning blend’s recommended usage before adding extra.
